At Perman Engineering, we’re built on family, hard work, and a passion for building better communities. Founded in 1994 by Eddie Perman in Rainbow City, Alabama, the company
began in a home office offering civil engineering and land surveying with a personal touch.
By 2000, demand had grown—and so did we. We opened our first office and expanded our team. In 2008, we launched our real estate development division, and by 2011, added general contracting services to offer turnkey project delivery.
Eddie’s sons joined the family business early on. Trey Perman became our first controller in 2009. Tanner Perman, who had worked alongside his father since childhood, joined full-time in 2013 after graduating with a degree in engineering—bringing new technology and leading projects across the country. Today, we offer a full suite of services—engineering, surveying, construction, and

Professional Land Surveying

Eddie Perman, PE, PLS
Founder & Principal Engineer
Eddie founded Perman Engineering in 1994 and has led with hands-on experience and a commitment to doing things right. As a licensed Professional
Engineer and Professional Land Surveyor, and the general contractor of record for Alabama, Eddie has decades of experience shaping projects and mentoring the next generation.
Trey Perman
CFO, Controller & Development Strategist
Since joining in 2009, Trey has served as the financial backbone of Perman Engineering. As CFO and controller, he oversees the business operations with precision. He's also a licensed pilot and plays a key role as the strategic force behind the company’s successful
real estate developments.
Tanner Perman, PLS
Lead Surveyor & General Contractor
Tanner has worked with Perman Engineering from a young age and came on board full-time in 2013 after earning his engineering degree. As a licensed Professional Land Surveyor and general contractor of record in multiple states, Tanner leads engineering and construction projects with a focus on innovation, accuracy, and client service.
Aerial Surveying & Drone Mapping
We provide drone-assisted surveying for topographic mapping, volume calculations, and high-resolution site inspections. Partnering with an FAA-certified remote pilot, we ensure safe, compliant operations and accurate data capture on every project. Drone technology allows us to quickly gather detailed site information, especially in large or hard-to-access areas, helping clients plan and build with confidence.
